Sevilla vs Barcelona Betting Tips and Odds

Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:

Sevilla are at 5/1 to win, a draw is at 10/3, and a Barcelona win is at ½.

Now that Sevilla are out of the Champions League, they have very little left to play for other than winning this match and making sure that they are in the Europa League for next season.  By winning this match, they would seal that up for sure.  However, if they lose they could still end up dropping out of Europe entirely if they fail to finish inside the top seven in La Liga.  They are currently in seventh spot, though, so they should just about get the job done.

Barcelona, meanwhile, are league leaders, and they have run off into the distance with it.  They are now 12 points clear of Atletico in second with five games to go, and they could clinch the title very soon with two wins and a draw.  However, they have made it clear for the last week or so that they intend to be ready to go for this fixture as they rested players in midweek to ensure they don't run out of energy like they did against Roma.

Sevilla come into this match with an unbeaten run in this tournament so far. That's impressive considering that sometimes you see teams rest after a big win in the first leg against lower opposition.  They have saw off FC Cartagena, Cadiz, Atletico Madrid, and Leganes along the way, with the wins over Atletico proving to be very impressive.  As for Barcelona, the current holders of the Copa, they have battled through impressively as well.  They have only given up two measly goals so far, one in the loss to Espanyol and one at Celta Vigo.  Both times they conceded, they did not win.  They have beaten Real Murcia, Celta Vigo, Espanyol, and Valencia to get here.

Both teams to score, via Ladbrokes, is set at 4/7.

Sevilla vs Barcelona Prediction

It might not be the result that fans hoped and/or expected for the Camp Nou side at the beginning of the month, but a win over Sevilla here will give them a double, a nice feather in the cap of Ernesto Valverde in his debut season.

Correct Score Prediction: Sevilla 1-3 Barcelona

Team News

Vincenzo Montella continues to have injury issues to both right back Sebastien Corchia and center back Simon Kjaer that look like they will hold them out of this cup final.  Some good news for Sevilla is that striker Wissam Ben Yedder will be back available after serving a suspension in midweek.

Key Man

It has been a season full of ups and downs for Sevilla. Just when they look like they can beat any team in the world, the next week they end up playing poorly.  Which side shows up will be the determining factor here, as will which Wissam Ben Yedder shows up.  If it is the clinical Frenchman that turns up, they have a real shot of winning. His performance, off the bench no less, against Manchester United was superb, and he'll be looking to offer up a similar showing here.

Team Form

Sevilla have three draws and two losses in their last five matches:

0-0 draw at Deportivo La Coruna
2-2 home draw vs Villarreal
0-0 draw at Bayern Munich (UCL)
4-0 loss at Celta Vigo
1-2 home loss vs Bayern Munich (UCL)

Sevilla Predicted Starting Line-up

Expected Line-up: 4-5-1

Team News

Ernesto Valverde will be missing just option as midfielder Sergi Samper, surplus anyway, is out with an injury. Center midfielder Ivan Rakitic has been out with a finger injury, but he is expected back for this tie. Right back Sergi Roberto is suspended for the next La Liga match, but he is clear to play here.  Expect to see the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez return after they were rested against Celta Vigo.

Key Man

Lionel Messi has not been a constant throughout this Copa run, being rested frequently along the way, but he still has made an impact when called up to score three goals and offer two assists as well.  For the final, he is a definite starter barring a late injury, and he will be looking to reassert himself on a big stage again after effectively ghosting through two legs against Roma just a couple of weeks or so ago.

Team Form

Barcelona have a draw, three wins, and a loss in their last five matches:

2-2 draw at Celta Vigo
2-1 home win vs Valencia
3-0 loss at Roma (UCL)
3-1 home win vs Leganes
4-1 home win vs Roma (UCL)

Barcelona Predicted Starting Line-up

Expected Line-up: 4-4-2

Sevilla have not won a match in some time now, and they have not enjoyed the best of runs against Barcelona of late, but that should not disqualify them for this match. They have a very good team, a cup-savvy one at that, and they will be no pushovers. However, Barcelona have to be favorites to win this match even after the disappointing loss in the Champions League at the hands of Roma. The Catalans came back from two down with seconds on the clock weeks ago, and with a fresh team should take home the first trophy of a double.
Barcelona are unbeaten in their last eight matches against Sevilla, winning seven times and drawing once. That draw came last month in a 2-2 result in Seville in which the hosts led by two until a very late Catalan resurgence.
