Bet365 have the following odds available for this match:
Manchester City are at 1/8 to win, a draw is at 7/1, and a Swansea win is at 20/1.
Manchester City have clinched the Premier League title, Pep Guardiola's first in England, already after they won last weekend and watched on as Manchester United lost to West Brom at home in shock fashion. This is the quickest that any team has ever won the league before, with five matches left to spare, and they now have 87 points total. The goal for them now will be to become the first PL side to take more than a century of points, which would be accomplished if they win four of their five of their remaining matches and draw one as well.
As for Swansea, they are still one of the sides looking to secure their status in the top flight for next season. The Swans sit down in 17th place, one above the drop zone, on 33 points, but they have an important five point gap between themselves and both Southampton and Stoke. Even if they do not pick up very many points from here in, they would have to be jumped by one of those sides in order to go down. One positive for them is that they have earned at least a point in four of the last five outings in the league.
At home, City have just about conquered all this season in the league. They did, of course, finally lose at home- to hated rivals Manchester United- last weekend when they could have won the title, but that is looking like the exception that proves the rule. It is their only loss at the Etihad, and the only other time they even dropped points was when they had gone down a man at the start of the season and came back to draw.
Swans' away record has been very pedestrian and very much on par with the rest of the teams in the lower half of the table. Just two wins in 17 away outings have come from the Welsh side thus far, and that has caused a lot of their issues. They have not won any of their last five games away from home, but they have drawn three times in that period to give them a semblance of hope.
Both teams to score is at 33/20 via Ladbrokes.
Swansea might be hoping that some of the Citizens will already be on vacation, but the chances of that are between slim and none. That means that the new champions, in front of their fans, should romp closer toward that 100 point barrier.
Pep Guardiola looks like he will be short of a couple of influential South American stars for this match. Striker Sergio Aguero looks set to miss out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury, while defensive midfielder Fernandinho will miss out due to a yellow card suspension. Center back John Stones is also a doubt through injury. Left back Benjamin Mendy, who has been out since September, is back in training, but is not likely to start or necessarily even make the squad.
Even after a title win has been clinched, it has been made clear that City are not going to just rest on their laurels. Raheem Sterling, in the middle of his best season ever, has stated as much. He's also said that he is looking to add to his personal goals tally as well to further demonstrate just how much he has improved. He has 17 in the league to go along with eight assists, putting him four behind Aguero for the team lead.
Manchester City have two wins and three losses in their last five matches:
1-3 win at Tottenham
1-2 home loss vs Liverpool (UCL)
2-3 home loss vs Manchester United
3-0 loss at Liverpool (UCL)
1-3 win at Everton
Carlos Carvalhal continues to miss out on the services of center midfield men Renato Sanches and Leroy Fer as well as forward Wilfried Bony due to injuries. Right back Angel Rangel and midfielder Sam Clucas are also both injury doubts ahead of this clash with the champions.
Since Carvalhal came to the club midway through the season, the Swans have been much, much better. They looked set for certain doom, but the Portuguese manager has steadied the ship, using the likes of the Ayew brothers to help do so. It was one of them last week, in Jordan, that saved the day as they came from a goal down to draw with Everton at home to get a point closer to securing safety for another season.
Swansea have three draws and two losses in their last five matches:
1-1 home draw vs Everton
1-1 draw at West Brom
2-0 loss at Manchester United
0-3 home loss vs Tottenham (FA Cup)
0-0 draw at Huddersfield
